Descriptive Writing

When a student came from another class and gave our teacher some flowers we wrote about them. We described what they looked like, what they smelt like and what they felt like. Tell us your thoughts about this.

  1. Hi Ruma Kotuku I think it was a great idea to describe flowers! I love flowers and the ones in the picture look beautiful. Your teacher is very lucky to have been given flowers. We've done descriptive writing too. We described our mothers when it was Mother's Day. There are some on our class blog under 'Older Posts' if you want to read them. We are so excited to have you as our Tuhi mai Tuhi atu class!

  3. They look like very nice flowers to describe.
I think it maybe a Camellia flower. I have one of those shrubs in my garden but it has not flowered yet.
Hopefully when the sun shines for a few days in a row the flowers might come out and be as pretty as these ones.

  5. Hi Josh. Thank you for your nice comment. Descriptive writing is easy for some of us but harder for others. We often work in groups when we write so we can share ideas. This helps us with our writing.
